A Little Waddle Before Dinner

Originally intended as a national remembrance of the previous season’s plentiful harvest and nature’s continued blessing, Thanksgiving Day is embraced throughout the United States (and Canada) on the last Thursday of each November. Of course, the popular holiday is no stranger to Baton Rouge. Before filling up on green beans, tender slabs of turkey, and pumpkin pie, consider giving your support to the March of Dimes.

You’ll be improving the health of babies and your own when you join the Turkey Trot, a 5k run that goes north through downtown Baton Rouge, looping around Arsenal Park and Capitol Lake. Registration is between 6:00 and 7:15 am. Come back to the Crowne Plaza Executive Center after the race and enjoy an unforgettable Thanksgiving Buffet. A delicious meal is yours to enjoy between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, with children under 6-years old dining for free.
