If you want to spend some time out in nature without having to drive for hours, the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center promises just that. A nature reserve and conservation center located just ten minutes from our downtown Baton Rouge hotel, Bluebonnet spans 100+ acres and includes wildlife and ecology exhibits and a 65-acre cypress-tupelo swamp, which visitors can safely and easily navigate by boardwalk. The reserve is also filled with wildlife including birds, bobcats, foxes, turtles and alligators, so make sure to have your camera out and ready. If you’re brave, you can head to the nature center and pet a baby alligator! (It’s okay if you’re not up for that, we won’t tell anyone).

Address: 10503 North Oak Hills Parkway, Baton Rouge
